Like most couples you are probably new to this wedding planning business. My advice is to just relax. Make it about you and only do what feels right for you. Let the rest go! And leave the ceremony to me.
You’re probably interested in how this process works. First take a good look at the photos of the weddings I have officiated and read my reviews. If you like what you see, give me a call or shoot me an email. Some people get comfortable right away and want to sign a contract after a phone call. Others want to meet me in person. I am happy to meet you and your fiancé at a mutually agreeable place so you can get a feel for me and we can all discern whether we will work well together.
Once you decide I’m your officiant, I will send you an contract. When it is signed and you send in your deposit (check or Venmo), your date is set on my calendar.
As we get closer to your wedding date, I will send you some sample vows, ring ceremony wording, readings and blessings, as well as a list of questions pertaining to your specific ceremony. If you choose the Custom Plus ceremony I will also send you a detailed list of questions focused on you and your relationship. From the information you provide me, I will craft your ceremony. About five or six weeks before your ceremony I will email you a draft of your ceremony and you can review it for accuracy and edit it as you desire.
It is best to have the ceremony finalized three to four weeks before your wedding date so you can set it aside and know it is complete. I suggest that you put it away at this time and not look at it again! Then it will be fresh for you when we stand together at the altar.
On your wedding day I will arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the ceremony to ensure all the details are taken care of. I will connect with your family and your photographer, make sure everything is set up properly, ensure we do a sound check and get the marriage license signed.
Know right now that your wedding is already perfect! It will unfold beautifully and naturally. The time we have together as you cross the threshold into married life will be moments you will cherish forever.
Breathe and enjoy this most special moment in your life. Together we will make it natural, engaging, meaningful and fun.
